Attendees have the opportunity to learn from one another, form new connections, and explore best practices for strengthening and expanding the youth mentoring movement.

MENTOR’s Excellence in Mentoring Awards are an opportunity to recognize outstanding leadership and commitment to supporting youth through mentoring relationships! Presented annually during the National Mentoring Summit, the EIM Awards honor individuals and organizations that have made tremendous contributions to young people and the mentoring field. Nominations are now open through October 4, 2024.

2025 MAIN STAGE PLENARIES

Introducing the new fifth edition of the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring

Following new trends in mentoring and adjusting to the unique needs of young people, for over 30 years, the Elements of Effective Practice for Mentoring™ (EEPM) has provided youth mentoring programs with foundational information and recommendations about the practices that support strong, effective mentoring services. In this session, you will hear how the new, fifth edition of the EEPM helps translate mentoring research into practice, building on the science that illuminates both mentoring relationships and the program structures that can facilitate those relationships in communities, schools, workplaces, and beyond.

Building a Workforce through Mentoring

As young people enter and navigate the workplace, we know they deserve access to new and ongoing opportunities, as well as the support of networks that align with their goals and value their unique perspectives. Alongside our longstanding corporate partners, MENTOR continues to be a leading voice in creating actionable, reciprocal workplace mentoring opportunities that foster inclusive career pathways while building cultures of belonging and connection. In this session, you will hear directly from young people and corporate leaders discussing the importance of workplace mentoring and how your organization can elevate and implement these opportunities.

Specialized Mentoring Models

We know that mentoring comes in many models to serve various populations and demographics across communities, and that every mentoring relationship is unique and takes its own shape, dependent upon the individuals involved in the relationship. Join us as we uplift a myriad of specialized mentoring models – from working with Gen Z youth, to creating credible messengers, to cultural competency when working with Indigenous youth – to discuss the impact and urgency of closing the mentoring gap.
